Practices of the First Night of Rejab
(From the teachings of Maulana Shaykh Nazim, Mawlana Shaykh Mehmet Adil and Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani) (may Allah sanctify all their secrets)
This Monday, 23rd of January 2023, is the first day of Rejab.
Shah Mardan, Sayyidina Ali (ra), would spend the whole night of the 1st of Rejab, in worship.
Rejab is the month of Allah, and within it is the blessed Night of Isra’ and Mikraj. This month is followed by Sha’ban, the month of the Prophet (saw), and within it is the Night of Destiny, while Ramadhan is the month of the Ummah, and within it, is hidden the Night of Power. Indeed, these three months, if used wisely and heedfully, can propel one much closer to Allah Almighty, if that indeed is our aim.
What to do on this first night of Rejab
- Pray the first 10 raka’at (of 30 raka’ats) of Sunnat Rejab.
The method of performing these two prayers can be found at:
30 Raka’ats of Sunnat Rejab
2. There is a special prayer called the Solat Sunnat Khusoma prayer, in which the rewards of that prayer are given as a gift to people we have wronged. You can only do it 7 times a year on special days, and the first day of Rejab is one of those days. It is taught by Ghaus Azam Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani (q), and we are all encouraged very strongly to perform it.
The method of performing it can be found here,
Solat Al Khusoma
Perform it, it may just save you from being hurled into Hellfire on Judgement Day!
For the rest of Rejab
Fast as much as possible in Rejab, and repent frequently by reading the Repentance of Rejab, and recite the Do’a of the Saint of Rejab below 3 times daily:
The do`a is:
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem
Allahuma innee istaghfiruka min kulli maa tubtu lahu ilayka thumma `udtu feeh. wa istaghfiruka min kulli maa `aradtu bihi wajhika wa-khaalatanee feehi maa laysa feehi ridaak. wa istaghfiruk li-ni`am allatee taqawwaytu biha `ala ma`aseeyatik. wa istaghfiruka min adh-dhunoob allatee laa ya`lamahu ghayruka wa laa yattali`u `alayha ahadun siwaak wa laa yasa`uha illa rahmatika wa laa tunjee minha illa maghfiratuka wa hilmuka. laa ilaha illa-Anta, subhaanak! innee kuntu min azh-zhaalimeen.

Fa ayyamaa `abdin min `ibaadik aw `amatin min ‘imaa’ika zhalamtu fee badanihi aw `irdihi aw maalihi fa `atihi min khazaa’inik allatee laa tanqus. In the name of Allah, the All-Beneficent, the All-Merciful
Allah, I ask forgiveness of You for everything for which I repented to You then returned to. And I ask forgiveness of You for everything I displeased You with and all that concerns me with which You are displeased. And I ask forgiveness of You for the favors which I used for increasing my disobedience towards You. And I ask forgiveness of You for the sins which no one knows except You and no one sees except You and nothing encompasses except Your Mercy and nothing delivers from except Your forgiveness and clemency. There is no god except You alone. You are the Most High, and I was one of the [self] oppressors!
Allah, I ask forgiveness of You for the injustice I committed against Your servants. Whatever of Your male or female servants whom I have hurt, physically or in their dignity or in their property give them of Your bounty which lacks nothing. And I ask You to honor me with Your mercy which encompasses all things. Do not humble me with Your punishment but give me what I ask of You, for I am in great need of Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful. May Allah send blessings upon Muhammad and upon all his companions. There is no power and no might except in Allah the High, the Exalted.
Blessings and Peace upon Sayyidina Muhammad, his Family, and his Companions.
